Please join us November 12th at the Academy of Children's Theatre for our upcoming MCMT auditions for The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Please bring a 32 bar musical theatre selection that demonstrates vocal range, musicianship, and performance skills.

Show Dates – March 22, 23, 24 25 – Hanford High Auditorium

Recommended for high school students and older due to mature content.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel, much of the power of the show comes from the music by Alan Menken and the lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.

There are two different groups of singers:
CHOIR
Choir members sing only, no dancing, no acting – will use books
Numbers needed (minimally):
Soprano – 4
Alto – 4
Tenor – 4
Baritone/Bass – 4
Rehearsals will be approximately one night per week (Monday) from November 13 - January 29,. After January 29, rehearsals increase in number per week.
ENSEMBLE
Ensemble members sing, dance and act. They portray numerous characters including (but not limited to) congregants, revelers, priests, gypsies, statues, gargoyles, and soldiers.
Number needed (minimally):
MALE
Tenor – 3
Baritone – 3
Bass/Baritone – 2
FEMALE
Soprano – 2
Mezzo– 1
Alto – 2

Lead Roles:
Frolo, male – Priest – Bass/Baritone
Quasimodo, male – Hunchback – Tenor
Clopin, male – Narrator and Head Gypsy – (also sings in the ensemble) – Tenor
Phoebus, male – Soldier of the Guard, loves Esmerelda– Tenor/Baritone
Esmerelda, female – Gypsy dancer, loved by Quasimodo – Mezzo

Audition instructions:
All auditionees must arrive at 3:00.
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm -- Group choir auditions. No prepared song needed for the choir.
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm -- Ensemble and Lead Roles auditionees. These will be singing/acting auditions (possibly some folk dancing auditions as well).
6:30 pm -- Second round of auditions for those involved in Mid-Columbia Mastersingers
